Large Outdoor Concert

Delay screens either side of a main stage, carrying live camera to the two thirds of the crowd who cannot see the band.

The project

What the job was

Past the first few hundred people, a concert stops being a visual experience. The band becomes a distant silhouette and the crowd watches the lights. Image magnification is what gives the back of the field the same show as the front.

DSD supplied the screens flanking the main stage and the vision path feeding them — live camera cut to screen, brightness set so the picture holds at dusk and does not glare at midnight.

It is the single biggest upgrade available to an outdoor concert, and the audience never mentions it, because when it works nobody notices the screen at all.
