Frostival Dundalk

Stage, LED screen, sound and lighting for Dundalk’s Christmas festival — an outdoor programme in the coldest, wettest, darkest weeks of the year.

At a glance

What the job involved, and what it had to work around.

The project

What the job was

A December outdoor festival is the hardest weather brief there is. Everything is wet, everything is cold, the light goes at four, and the audience is standing in it with children.

DSD supplied the stage, the LED screen, the PA and the lighting for Frostival, specified for winter rather than adapted to it — weather-protected staging, an outdoor-rated screen that reads at night without glaring, and lighting that makes a dark town square feel like somewhere you want to stand.

A hometown job, in the town the company is from.
