Previous Work

A full-scale corporate event staged inside a live, working office — a multi-floor atrium turned into an auditorium for a day, then handed back.

At a glance

What the job involved, and what it had to work around.

The project

What the job was

An office atrium is one of the hardest rooms to stage. It has no rigging points where you want them, no blackout, no back-of-house, and a working building on every side of it. It also has something no conference centre has: the company’s own space, which is exactly why brands want to use it.

DSD built the room. A staged platform with a large LED wall behind it, a second screen feeding the upper levels so the floors looking down could actually see, uplighting through the whole volume to lift it out of office fluorescent, and a sound design that could carry a presenter across an atrium without turning into echo. The production desk ran on site for the duration, with the whole thing loaded in and struck around the building’s normal working hours.

The result is an event that looks like it belongs to the company rather than one held in a rented hall — the brand on the wall, the staff on the balconies, and the building doing the work a venue would otherwise be paid to do.

What we supplied

The build, item by item

Every part of the job, listed rather than summarised.

Main stage LED

A large-format LED wall behind the staged platform, carrying brand content, presenter graphics and live vision.

Upper-level screens

Additional displays aimed at the mezzanine and upper floors so the audience above the stage could follow the content.

Lighting

Uplighting and stage wash through the full height of the atrium, taking the room off office lighting and onto a brand colour.

Sound

Distributed audio tuned for a hard-surfaced atrium, so speech stays intelligible on every level.

Staging

Platform, steps, soft furnishing and floral dress for the stage front.

On-site crew

Vision, audio and lighting operated live from a production desk in the room.

On site

Photographs from the job

The build and the finished event, as they were.
