Capital Credit Union

Over twenty screens installed across the branch network, won on tender and delivered without closing a single branch — on software the team were operating themselves from the handover.

“Digital Screen Displays have done an excellent job installing over 20 screens across our branch network. Working with David and his team, the whole process was seamless from the tender to the installation and the software support. The guys installing the screens did a great job and kept any disruption to a minimum, while the actual software behind the screen is easy to use and the technical support has been excellent. Most importantly, the customer service side of things from DSD has been brilliant. They have always responded very quickly and have been flexible with our requests. It has been great to work with DSD so far and I look forward to working with them in the future.”

James Liston, Business Development Manager — Capital Credit Union

The brief

A credit union branch is a room full of members

You cannot put up screens in a branch network the way you would in an empty office fit-out.

Branches are small, busy and personal. Members are sitting a few feet from wherever the work is happening, often discussing something private. There is no back-of-house route to run cable through and no floor you can rope off for a morning without it being obvious to everybody in the room.

So the installation standard is not just about the finish on the wall. It is about how little anybody noticed it happening — how quiet the work was, how quickly each branch was handed back, and whether a member coming in that afternoon would have known anything had been done at all.

That was the brief across the network, and it is the part of the job the client singled out afterwards.

What we did

Tender to installation to support

The client’s own description of the process was “seamless” — from the tender through to the software support.

Won on tender

Appointed through a formal tender rather than a conversation, with delivery and support commitments made in writing before anything was ordered.

Installed across the network

Over twenty screens fitted across the branches, with the disruption to members and staff kept to a minimum throughout.

Software and training

A platform the team can actually use, handed over so branch and marketing staff run the content themselves.

Support and service

Technical support alongside the customer service side — which the client named as the most important part of all.

The part they said mattered most

Responsiveness, not specification

Asked what stood out, the client did not lead with the hardware.

The words used were quick responses and flexibility with requests. That is worth dwelling on, because it is not what most suppliers compete on and it is what most clients end up caring about.

A network of twenty-odd screens generates a steady trickle of small asks — a layout change, a new branch, a piece of content that will not behave, a question somebody would rather ask than look up. How a supplier handles those, over years, is the actual relationship. The installation is a fortnight; the service is the rest of it.

The detail

How a branch network gets done quietly

What keeps disruption down when the building cannot close.

Branch by branch

Each one surveyed and scheduled separately. Small rooms with their own layouts; a plan that works in one branch does not simply transfer.

Work around opening hours

Members kept in mind throughout. Timing agreed per branch so the noisy part is not happening across a counter from a private conversation.

Clean installation

Cable routes worked out in advance. The finish matters in a room members sit in, so nothing is left visible that should not be.

Handed back the same day

No branch left mid-job. Each site finished, tidied and working before the team moved on to the next.

Software the staff run

Easy to use, by the client’s own account. Content changes made by the credit union rather than raised as a request to us.

Support that answers

Quickly, and flexibly. The part the client called the most important, and the reason the relationship has kept going.

On site

The screens in the branches

Photographs from across the network.

The result

Seamless, in the client’s words

From tender, through installation, to the software support behind it.

Over twenty screens across a live branch network, installed without members noticing much, on software the staff took over immediately, backed by service the client describes as brilliant.

Every part of that sentence is their assessment rather than ours — which is the only kind worth putting on a page.
