A Rosenstock show is built around video. The sketches, the impressions, the pre-recorded material — the screen is a cast member, and it has to be cued to the second because the timing of the joke depends on it.
That is a different job to hanging a backdrop. DSD supplied the screen, the staging and the audio, with playback tight enough that the performer can work against the video live rather than around it.
Comedy is unforgiving about latency. If the picture is late, the room knows.
