Bia Energy

A display at a food-waste and circular economy facility — explaining a process most visitors have never seen.

At a glance

What the job involved, and what it had to work around.

The project

What the job was

Anaerobic digestion is genuinely interesting and completely invisible. The plant is tanks and pipework; the process happens inside them. A visitor sees infrastructure and has to take the rest on trust.

DSD supplied the display that makes the process visible — the route from food waste through the facility to energy and digestate, shown as a sequence rather than described on a board.

For a facility that hosts stakeholders, school groups and planning visitors, that screen is doing the tour guide’s hardest job.
