The most common thing that goes wrong at an outdoor event has nothing to do with the kit. It is that the stage company and the screen company have never spoken, so the deck height and the screen frame do not agree, and somebody finds out at seven in the morning on the day.
We own both. When we quote a stage and a screen together, the sightlines, the deck height, the cable routes and the ballast are worked out once, by one person, before anything is loaded.
If you already have a stage supplier, that is fine — we will work to their drawing. We just want to have seen it before the day.

A stage that is too small ruins the show and a stage that is too big eats the budget. This is the rule of thumb we work to before anyone measures anything.

A temporary structure in a public place needs figures behind it, and the licensing officer will ask for them. Not a generic sheet from a manufacturer — a calculation for the stage you are getting, on the ground you are putting it on, in the exposure that site has.
We supply that as standard with every outdoor build, along with the insurance and the method statement, before you have to ask.
Anything outdoors gets looked at before it is quoted. It is the only way to know what the ground and the access will actually take.

Councils, festival licensing officers, county boards and school boards all ask for the same documents before anything goes on the ground. We send them with the quote rather than waiting to be asked, because the licence application is usually the thing holding your date up.
